Is it possible to add a complete folder tree (INBOX with personal subfolders) as shared folders to another IMAP account? This should be dynamic, so that any new folder created below INBOX should automatically be added th the shared folder tree of the other account.

No.

I tried to simply create a symlink from the INBOX Maildir to the shared folder but that way I only get the toplevel folder, no subdirectories.

Alternatively the folder tree could be incorporated into the INBOX hierarchy of the other account because read/write control is not an issue.

That's possible, using shared folders, except that the other account's INBOX will not be accessible (but its folders will be).
