I tried that already and it seems like it is recording something but I don't know what. When I play the test.mpg I just get a blue square. I tried the bsdktr_tvtune program to try and set the channel but that just gives me a segmentation fault and core dumps.

Any other suggestions?

TIA

Steve,

Well I downloaded ffmpeg and installed it. Now how do you use it to record. It stated that the right video source and channel must be started before launching ffmpeg. So I started fxtv and set the channel. When I tried ffmpeg test.mpg it gave me /dev/bktr0 device busy msg.

What exactly do I need to do?

Only one device can access the bktr device at any one time. Shut down fxtv and try starting ffmpeg.
