En réponse à Bernard, l'instruction ResultSet.getString(1), fonctionne très bien; (1) est le n° d'index de la colonne dans laquelle je souhaite récupérer ma chaine de caractère.

Chouette, j'ai encore appris quelque chose ! Ca simplifie les codages.
