I just checked the source of the mailman script in Gentoo (the one that
compiles/installs courier). This is the "IF" block where MTA_dependant code is run:

As you can use, the ONLY thing gentoo does is set the mail group id to "mail",
the gid courier gets in Gentoo. So, I'll clean up my RHEL setup, get latest courier, latest mailman,
and just try the syntax of my aliases file.
