well at least you got past the Access Violation on trying to register a database then :-( I uninstalled straight away after that.

I use the command line, and if I can't Telnet I use phpmyadmin. Problem solved. AND I use windows AND it's free

I'll chime in and say that I've used a couple of IDE's with MySQL and so far EMS MySQL Manager has been the best. It seems to be the most professionally built and most stable. Of course, every product could use some changes. I particularly wish that ALL of the buttons that are in the interface had rollover messages. For instance.. in the Data view of any table the buttons to Add a record, delete a record and so on are not clearly marked as what they are for. Anyhow, just a suggestion.
