Hi Virgina,

I looked at the instructions and I am already familiar with that piece. I think my problem is simpler... I cannot telnet into my localhost using the command "telnet localhost 3306" or "telnet localhost". I'm running XP Pro. Currently, I'm looking through the troubleshooting documentation to see if there is anything useful there.

Thanks. Roger

I'm curious to know what exactly you're trying to *accomplish*?

There is little or no point is using telnet to connect to the MySQL server, given that it speaks a binary protocol that will appear as gibberish in your telnet window.

Please clarify.
