Thanks, Dan.

Yes, please investigate. If you are unable to mitigate this issue, do you think removing the gadget from the directory and resubmitting might do the trick?

Brian.

Hello,

It looks to me like the gadget is using an auto-generated thumbnail, rather than the one you specified. This is sometimes done for quality reasons, but I don't know the specifics of when or why that happens. If you'd like your thumbnail to appear, I can investigate this issue, but I can't guarantee your gadget thumbnail will be restored.

Best, Dan

Dan, Checking back with you after two weeks. The gadget screen shot has not updated. Please advise.

I have done this. Thanks for the help!

Hello,

I just checked your site to see if there was perhaps a reason the XML wasn't being updated. I thought perhaps the robots.txt file was blocking the retrieval of the gadget thumbnail and screenshot. It isn't, but it is blocking the crawl of the gadget XML. I would suggest removing the robots.txt entry for the gadget XML and then waiting another two weeks to see if the XML is updated, and the thumbnail/ screenshot included in the directory.

Hi Dan,

Refreshing the issue:

I have a gadget where I have repeatedly attempted to update the thumbnail and screenshot but to no avail. We agreed to wait two weeks and still the thumb and screenshot have not updated.

Neither is reflective of what is in the moduleprefs for this
gadget:http://www.printedowl.com/ComputerCalendarGoogle.aspx

It is like this gadget is "stuck" in a cache somewhere. Please advise.

Hi Dan,

I have updated the thumb and screenshot a few times going back over a year ago. The changes never show up in the directory. Let's give my latest changes a couple of weeks. If they do not make it in the directory I will post a request in this group regarding this issue. Does this sound good?

Hi,

Yes, but have you waited least two weeks after making the change to see if the directory picked up the revision? How long ago did you first change the screenshot and thumbnail?

Dan,

I have updated the description, thumbnail and screenshot many times. Only the description gets updated.

Hello,

Did you update the thumbnail and screenshot at the same time as the description? How long ago was this?

One more request:

I have a gadget that was submitted roughly two years ago:

For some reason, the thumbnail and screenshot image attributes in my ModulePrefs are not updating. The thumbnail and screenshot on the link above are from when I submitted the gadget two years ago. The description in ModulePrefs updates fine. Can you help with this?

Thanks, Brian.

Hello,

The current process is to post the URL of the gadget that you'd like removed. In your case, I could get this information from the link you provided, so I have already taken care of your request, and marked the gadget for deletion.

Best, Dan
