Thanks Dann. I just checked and the parameters are back in order. Hooray!...

Thanks a lot.

Thanks for confirming.

Status update: I just received confirmation that a bug fix is scheduled to be released today which should resolve this issue. Considering the fact that it may take some time for the fix to propogate across all different regions, let's give it a day and attempt another verification regarding whether the bug was fixed.

Once again, can of you re-run your tests again tonight or tomorrow morning and report back whether it's been fixed?

I really appreciate everyone's ongoing help in tracking this down.

Thanks!

Dann

To complement Bonstio data, clearing the browser cookies and starting with a default iGoogle page, adding a new empty tab, and finally adding the test gadget or any gadgets with multiple parameters will show the issue. This confirms that this has nothing to do with a specific account or a specific theme.

Also, in addition to WinXP SP2 and IE6, IE7, Firefox 2, I also tried on Linux Ubuntu Edgy with Firefox 2.0.0.2 --> same result. I tried as well with Safari Beta on WinXP SP2 --> same result as well. I believe we can safely assume that this is not OS or browser dependent either.

Dann, as you can see in this thread, Googler Pamela Fox (Mountain View) reported she reproduced the issue 2 weeks ago already and confirmed you guys were working on it. She should be in a position to show you the problem. If you need assistance in reproducing the issue, I am available to help as well... Just let us know what you need (we can setup a remote desktop session)?

Sure thing -http://groups.google.com/group/Google-Gadgets-API/web/ordering2.png. This is a brand new tab with NO other gadgets. Using the
URLhttp://www.google.com/igandtheGoogle "Sweet dreams theme".

This is using WinXP SP2, Firefox 2.0.0.6. With a handful of pretty standard plugins. Would you also like the HTTP traffic to take a look at? BTW it looks the same in IE also.

Let me know what else I can provide!

This is very strange. I can't reproduce this problem at all. However that doesn't mean I don't believe you all and that there's a serious problem here.

Can I have you all to try adding this gadget to a brand new tab with no other gadgets on
it:http://hosting.gmodules.com/ig/gadgets/file/102585047552922949741/tes...

It's the same tspportfolio gadget except with all the content stripped out to make it render faster.

I want to verify that: -- this problem isn't being affected by other gadgets on the same page -- the problem isn't related to a specific or corrupt homepage tab

Also, when replying back, can you post information on what OS and browser you're testing on including the version number?

Thanks for your help,

Dann

Here's anotherhttp://groups.google.com/group/Google-Gadgets-API/web/ordering.png if it helps.

I'm curious to know a) how this problem came about and b) what order they are getting rendered in!? It seems arbitrary to me.

Here's the ordering specified in the gadget source (I've deliberately stripped lines to make this easier to read.

Cheers

Can someone reply back with a screenshot as well? I'd like to see what it looks like.

Hey everyone,

First, I apologize for the delayed in response regarding this bug. We do acknowledge this as a serious and blocking issue for many gadgets and have been working on a fix, which I believe has been released.

I re-tested the gadget below and confirmed that each UserPref is rendering in order once
again.http://investmentmonitor.googlecode.com/svn/releases/2.5.070409/quote...

Please let us know if you're still experiencing this issue.

Thanks for your patience and we apologize for any inconvenience,

Could we have an update from the Googlers on this issue? As stated by Pamela and other above, we are getting loads of emails from users and also bad messages on comment boards because of this severe issue that has been ongoing for 12 days now.

Please, advise such as we can pass the information to our user.

Has anybody found any workaround to force the parameters to display in a set order? If we could find a workaround, this would be better than how things are right now.

Thanks,

Jerome

Same here, as I reported in a different thread (sorry about
that):http://groups.google.com/group/Google-Gadgets-API/browse_thread/threa...

This is a pretty severe issue, making many gadgets unusable for new users (too difficult to configure when the order of parameters is screwed up).

Hi,

Since two days ago theeditsettings form fields from my component are being show in a different order then the one that has been defined in the xml.

Look for example to this gadget (http:// investmentmonitor.googlecode.com/svn/releases/2.5.070409/ quoteInvestmentMonitor/quoteInvestmentMonitor.xml) , the first visible field should be the "Quote symbol", but when I add it to my igoogle page and I open theeditsettings form this field is the fifth one and the two first are "Chart provider" and "Specific day".
