Did you check if you still have those messages files on the server ? It seems to be a problem either with your solaris nfs servers or with nfs client caching. If you've built courier with FAM, try disabling this first just in case. I'm using NetApps as nfs storage with both bsd 4.x and 6.x as clients running courier and everything has been working fine so far.
