2. I've setup a virtual account in /etc/userdb where the virtual domain is the same as the localhost name ( so that everyone is a virtual user). But courier gives me a 550 when I try to send mail to the virtual account. Is there a way for me to see where courier is getting it's users list from (other than local users) and list the contents?

Unless some configuration files are initialized, by default the local machine name is configured as a local domain in Courier, so mail to the domain will be delivered as if to a local system account, and virtual mail accounts are not even going to be looked at.
