BPSS is not synonymous with the type of pattern language we want or need to use. Patterns are a two dimensional syntax (sort of like simple UML) commonly used for describing recurring concepts within architectures (probably not the best explanation but close enough).

BPSS is an XML Schema constrained language for describing processes.
