Ruby can be used to create things like new 'tools' - i.e., the random lines in a box mentioned above.

Can it be used to manipulate objects within the model? For example - is it possible to have a Ruby Script that rotates an object to face the sun based upon the date & time (selected from the shadows menu)?

Just wondering...
