Hello,

Jeff, I concur with Dale that this is a problem. I integrated my feed on two separate websites, two separate platforms. Both were working flawlessly until this week (at least I only noticed it this week. Like Dale I had these these on autopilot so I didn't notice right away.) It took me awhile to figure out that it was the image_link causing the problem.

The folks using store connector are having the same issue:

http://groups.google.com/group/base-help-bulk/browse_thread/thread/17f5d7d09f8ab1d1/fb8546281cfcd1ae?#fb8546281cfcd1ae

I did manage to get my integration working again with the media feed, but it does slow things down on my end and I can certainly sympathize with Dale that this could be a really less-than-ideal solution for others.

Good luck figuring this out! :)

Thanks for responding Jeff,

As of 15:00 EST on 3/19/2008, the problem still exists for all of my feeds. I am still sending the feeds but am forced to not send any image/preview links.

Unfortunately, all of the items sent to Googlebase in our daily feed provide use images hosted in our various portals. The images for these items (or stock images) are all stored and managed through these various channels. Uploading the images to Google's media feed would entail pulling the image down from each of these locations (using the same URL i'm currently trying to send to Googlebase) and then uploading the images up to Google ... then updating my feeds before i send it to use the image stored on Google's media hub rather than the native image stored where the ad/item actually exists.

Up until about a week ago, I had never had any issues with images. Considering that the stock images that i sometimes use have not changed for over a year, I can only deduce that this issue must be related to a change in the Googlebase API or processing.

Thank you for looking into this. Please let me know if you need a sample feed (request/response). Just in case, here is a link to one of the stock images used some of the
time.http://mhe.palmbeachpost.coxnewsweb.com/ad_image/pbp.jpg

Thanks,

Dale

Hello,

I'm not aware of any issues but I'll check to make sure. If you are using the API to post or update your items, you might consider sending the images to Google Base using the new media feed.

Please let me know if this problem persists.

Happy coding,

Jeff

Hi,

I am also seeing this same error which started a few days ago. My feed has been rock-solid for many months now and it is fully automated so i didn't notice the problem for a couple of days. The images are valid and are not re-directions. I typcally submit between 1000 and 5000 ads per day and have never had this problem before. Now, any ad that has an image is being rejected (all of them). My only option is to not send any ad images. UGH!

Has something changed in Google's image validation code? Any new rules?

Thanks Jeff!
