I just installed the newest version of Google Desktop and was happy to see that there is no longer a thick margin around the gadgets, but now the scrollbar doesn't appear when there are too many options to display on the options screen.

Thanks for the update.
I had installed GDesktop 5.5 a few days back but did not have a chance
to reboot the XP machine to see the result. This is clearly a very
severe regression for universal gadgets on GDesktop. I have captured a
snapshot of my gadgets available on the GDesktop Gadget directory as
it shows in 5.1 and
5.5:http://google-gadgets-api.googlegroups.com/web/wclocks_gdesktop_5.5_i...
Not only we have to compensate for the syndicated gadgets scroll bar space on the right hand side of the gadget, but now, we are forced this empty space around the gadget... The usable space is shrinking.

Good News: In the newest version ofGoogleDesktop, they have added a scrollbar to the options dialog.
Bad News: There is now a 15px border around the gadgets.

I have been pulling my hair on the first one, because of # signs in default values preventing theOptionsdialog to show up, so I thought I would post this here too in case someone else runs into this.
