A couple of weeks ago I asked this:
Date: Thu, 24 Sep 1998 09:59:56 +0100 From: Nick Barnes <Nick.Barnes at pobox.com> To: Perforce Users <perforce-user at perforce.com> Subject: Where in the world are Perforce users
Out of interest, where, geographically, are Perforce users based? Would it make sense to have local user groups?
I'll take a survey: if people respond to me individually with their location (e.g. city, state, country), I will post the results.
Here's a summary of the number of responses I received:
responses
Total 48 Austria 1 Vienna 1 Canada 2 Montreal 1 Saanichton, BC 1 Germany 1 Heidelberg 1 Netherlands 1 Eindhoven 1 Norway 3 Arendal 1 Oslo 1 Hovik 1 Sweden 4 Stockholm 4 Switzerland 1 Lausanne 1 UK 6 Birmingham 1 Cambridge 1 London 1 Manchester 1 Perth 1 Towcester 1 US 29 CA 11 Belmont 1 Livermore 2 Santa Clara 2 Berkeley 1 Campbell 1 Mountain View 2 Oakland 1 San Francisco 1 CO 1 Colo Spgs 1 CT 1 Stamford 1 IL 1 Chicago 1 IN 1 Fort Wayne 1 MA 2 Cambridge 1 Boston 1 MI 2 Detroit 2 MN 1 Eden Prairie 1 NC 1 Raleigh 1 NY 1 NY 1 OH 1 Columbus 1 OR 1 Corvallis 1 TX 2 Austin 2 UT 1 Salt Lake 1 WA 2 Seattle 2
So it looks as if only Silicon Valley can muster enough people to make a local user group plausible. Still, it was an interesting exercise.
