It has been very interesting reading the responses to this question!

Instead of adding to the suggestions, I'll just tell you what our experience has been.

We have a server on sun solaris unix, and development on NT and unix. In the year that I have been perforce administrator, there have been *maybe* 4 case sensitivity problems that I have delt with.

Ever had a reason to *move* a depot (server) from one platform to another? Now THERE's where case sensitivity problems will really bite you.

P4 tries to make it sound like it's no big deal to do it, but once you have a database that's infected with case-sentitivity problems (as is likely to happen when hosted on an NT server), it's somewhere between difficult and impossible to move that database to any flavor of Unix.

We happen to do our development on two platforms that are case-insensitive (Windows and Macintosh), so it hasn't really affected our development. However, a few months ago, I wanted to move our server to Unix on the theory that it would outperform a comparably-equipped NT system. The case-sensitivity problem prevented me from making this switch.
