Dear Matt,

Probably a firewall issue - nodes connect with each other on all sorts of odd ports and not just the ports that are specified in config.ini. However, it seems odd that this error would throw an arbitrator disconnected error... one would imagine that it would never connect!

If you can elimiate firewalls for a brief period of time and see if that fixes it that would probably be a good first step!

With best wishes,

Alex

Hi,

I'm currently testing MySQL Cluster 5.0.16 on FreeBSD 5.4. I've got a simple cluster working between two machines (+ an arbitrator), but I'm now trying to add a third machine at a different site and I'm having problems.

Startup looks normal:

ndbd: pit-radius1# /usr/local/libexec/ndbd --nodaemon -c lnip-data.telstra.net 2005-12-22 08:56:10 [ndbd] INFO -- Angel pid: 68418 ndb pid: 68419 2005-12-22 08:56:10 [ndbd] INFO -- NDB Cluster -- DB node 4 2005-12-22 08:56:10 [ndbd] INFO -- Version 5.0.16 -- 2005-12-22 08:56:10 [ndbd] INFO -- Configuration fetched at lnip-data.telstra.net port 1186 NR: setLcpActiveStatusEnd - m_participatingLQH

ndb_mgm: Node 4: Started (version 5.0.16)

Then after a few minutes:

ndbd: 2005-12-22 08:59:45 [ndbd] INFO -- Error handler shutting down system 2005-12-22 08:59:46 [ndbd] INFO -- Error handler shutdown completed - exiting

ndb_mgm: Node 4: Forced node shutdown completed. Initiated by signal 0. Caused by error 2305: 'Arbitrator shutdown, please investigate error(s) on other node(s)(Arbitration error). Temporary error, restart node'.

I've specified ServerPort for all the ndbd's and I think that I've got all the firewall ACLs correct (I see all the nodes connecting between one another and to the arbitrator).

Any suggestions?

Matthew.
