Sure, smtp service is listening. No matter on what address I call the oucier server (127.0.0.1 ; 192.168.11.1 ; localhost ; lothlorien even the outside IP, the message is the same for all:
"Connection closed by foreign host"
No log-errors. Nothing to check. and ONLY if I call FROM the host courier is running on. From all other locations everything works flawlessly. Strange huh? What can this be?
Some time passed. No clues yet as what can cause this strange behaviour. Nobody gave the hint that leads to a solution. It just shouldn't happen. Courier is there and listening. Only happens when called from localhost. smtpaccess is absolutely correct. Even Sam did not come up with something usefull (meaning no hamr here sam, but I guess if even _you_ don't have a clue..<sigh>)
Maybe one day.. The new sylpheed luckely now too has an option of using "sendmail.." instead of directly call the smtp server. So sending mail off the server under X will be possible again. But it will not solve the puzzling..
