I'm looking at replacing the hardware for our mail server soon and would
like to implement Maia Mailguard
(http://www.renaissoft.com/projects/maia/) and amavisd-new
(http://ftp.cfu.net/pub/amavisd-new/) with Courier for user-configurable,
hands free spam control. However according to the amavisd-new docs
(http://www.ijs.si/software/amavisd/README.courier), Courier-MTA can only
accept/reject messages at *SMTP* Delivery time (before maildrop, I'm aware
of what maildrop can do, I'm using it now), it cannot add headers or
otherwise redirect the message dynamically based on courierfilter results.
Is this information correct and up to date? If so, Sam, do you have
eventual plans to add this capability. Right now it looks like I may have
to consider switching to Postfix if I want to use Maia or find some other
spam solution that is simple and customizable for my users but I'd rather
not as I very much prefer a tightly integrated setup like Courier
MTA|Maildrop|IMAP. I realize that such a feature is probably a huge
project in itself and if it's not in the plans, I fully understand.
Thanks for all your hard work Sam.
