I am using the .net connector for mono in my application to connect to MySql servers. Application is open-source and can be found here: http://fileuniverse.com/?p=showitem&ID=2746

The program searches some text files for info to store in a database. The problem is that, in Mysql 4.1 and 5.0, it is extremely slow but works normal in 4.0.

It is as if, for the first 10 mins, it is working at 1/100 of normal spped. Then sudenly, it starts working fast and it finishes the work quickly.

In the task manager, 4.0 shows mysql spending around 30% of CPU usage. MySql network administrator shows around 700 KB/s of traffic.

But in 4.1 and 5.0 (i could swear that, some weaks ago it was only with 5.0 but...), for a very long time it doesn't shows more than some 8% CPU usage, around 9 KB/s of trafic and, if i remember well, 1 query per second, until it sudenly starts working fast, almost as fast as with 4.0.

All instalations were made in Windows with all the default setting. Anyone have any idea what might be happening?
