I develop a software for marble and granite organizations. However, I don't use it, why? Because my organization doesn't work with neither marble nor granite, so it's ok. On the other hand, Google develop a tool for web apps, but it's ok if Google doesn't use this tool because they don't work with web apps. Ops, wait! They do!

In fact, I agree that if the author of a tool doesn't use it, it's a sign that something is wrong.

Or it's a sign of something else, like short term economics and/or business specialization. Let's grow up a little bit on the "dog food" front. I develop financial trading applications for hedge fund managers, but guess what: I don't use my own software products. Can you guess why?
