I have build x86 rpm's from the supplied srpm by now. Though lots of build tests 'fail' (pid file not found) and waiting for 400 seconds per failing test makes the build a long during process ;(

Chris

Kevin,

you stated that "mysql won't be providing binaries apparently". What exactly do you mean? What binaries MySQL will not be providing? Only for "Linux (AMD64 / Intel EM64T)"? Why do you think so?

It is not a problem to build from the sources. But, as it is written in red and highlighted with yellow on the downloads page:

For maximum stability and performance, we recommend that you use the binaries we provide.

Anatoly.

I'd just compile from source..... it's easy enough and mysql won't be providing binaries apparently.

I've had to patch 5.1 series from BK so this helps int hat process too.

Any reason why there is no 'Linux AMD64 / Intel EM64T generic RPM downloads' version of 5.1.14 available? The generic x86 version cannot allocate enough ram ;(
