The thing to understand is that most (good) programmers are pedants. They have to be. Computers are fussy.

Perhaps you meant to say that you had identified two possible ways that it might be appropriate to upgrade your system, and wondering which of the two was recommended, or whether, indeed, there was a preferred alternative that you hadn't mentioned?
