Forgive a newbie if this problem is well known but I didn't turn up the answer in a check of the list archives.

When I ./configure --with-debug on Solaris 2.6 the link step fails because there is no .so version of libcrypt and libgen, although there are .a versions of them. Is there some way to build with the .a's?

MySQL source is 3.22.25. Other software:
