That, believe it or not, is the authoritative definition of cookies. Of course, the list of global TLDs is now larger, but except for that, this is the authoritative source.

Interesting.

It indicates that domains beneath the global TLDs are required to contain only two dots. The way I read that then, you could still set a cookie for ".com." -- hmm...
