Hello,
Thanks, I was aware of those documents, and those were helpful. To be more precise, I am in fact looking for a (reference to a) definition of "pre-editor context validation".
Pim
P.S. To answer the other part of previous question, RosettaNet PIPs reference to the specific pattern used in the PIP diagram stereotype.

Some example mappings would help me and my colleagues better understand the precise differences between some of the patterns.
May I suggest you download the latest versions of the UMM Meta Model & User Guide (R12) first from the TMG web site <http://www.untmg.org/ index.php? option=com_docman&task=view_category&Itemid=137&subcat=1&catid=63&limits tart=0&limit=5>. They are now two separate documents.
Page 43 (figure 5) of the User Guide shows the Business Transaction Pattern decision tree and on page 110 there is an example. Both should give you enough information to understand the purpose of each pattern and their differences. BTW, personally I believe that the term "Business Activity Patterns" is a better fit.
