I used that on a 'mail-only' site for the ISP I worked for. But my personal setup is that users HAVE home directories, just not on the physical mail server so I can't use that trick myself.

Previosly (before an upgrade or two) I used to hack the source, but twice I've forgot about that and upgraded maildrop leading to the fact that mail can't be delivered. Last time it took me tree days before I noticed the problem (I was very busy with other things so I didn't even notice the lack of mail!! Go figure :) and then almost a day to figure out WHY. This time I just created empty homedirs.

But last week I created some users and they called me yesterday and wondered why they didn't get any mail... Took me a couple of hours to figure out why...

So it's my bad memory that's the REAL culpit, but...

So my question stands: Is there a way to make maildropt NOT check the home directory (without hacking the source)?
